Conference at a Glance and Speakers 
This year’s Emerging Technology Leadership Summit will concentrate on Small Business, Diversity and Inclusion and shall serve as a learning experience that enables leaders from inside and outside the diversity office to develop core competencies in Employee Resource Groups, while getting together to discuss issues affecting Latinos in the Technology Industry. The LISTA Emerging Technology Leadership Summit will include our Campeones de Nuestra Comunidad Awards Luncheon which acknowledges community leaders and LISTA members across the State of Florida who have given time and resources to make the Latino community shine on the public stage and who are unsung heroes of our community.

Special Keynote Speaker: Astronaut, Engineer, Politician and Author, José M. Hernández along with a book signing for his newly released book, “Reaching for the Stars: The Inspiring Story of a Migrant Farm Worker Turned Astronaut.” Be prepared to get your personal autographed copy of his new book immediately following our Campeones de Nuestra Comunidad Awards Luncheon. This spectacular event will be followed by our VIP Reception.

Mobile use of wireless devices is has migrated from making voice calls to accessing internet and being “always on.” The increasing demand for access to broadband “data on the move” is creating many challenges. Explore how wireless technologies will evolve to address the demands for broadband access and what network and spectrum management techniques may be necessary to ensure efficient use of spectrum and the impact of cyber security issues impacting these technology.

By using employee resource groups to create go-to market campaigns that capture the cultural nuances of targeted demographics. Over the last 10 years, resource groups have evolved from being social networks to goal-oriented drivers of innovative solutions. They are key business resources that can be leveraged to deliver recruitment, engagement, talent development, and marketplace solutions. In this panel Leaders of ERG discuss the best practices of these groups, including common types and membership structures, and their potential impact for organizations.

How to Build Your Brand Relationship Using Social Media

Representatives from leading national and regional brands will each give a short presentation sharing their “social media story.” They will share insights how social media has evolved within their organization, some of the challenges and opportunities they have identified, time and resources required, and results they are seeing. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A discussion with attendees. A great opportunity to learn from those “in the trenches” on a daily basis.
